For your next software buying decision
SaaS Selection Toolkit:
compare vendors with evidence.
The SaaS Selection Toolkit turns your shortlist into a consistent comparison: requirements, evidence-backed ratings, three-year costs and a written decision. An editable workbook and concise guide, not another list of “best” tools.

What haven’t you checked?
The SaaS Selection Toolkit turns your shortlist into a consistent comparison: requirements, evidence-backed ratings, three-year costs and a written decision. An editable workbook and concise guide, not another list of “best” tools.
The feature is “supported.”
But can your team complete the actual workflow, on the plan you are buying?
The monthly price looks fine.
But seats, setup, add-ons and internal rollout effort change the total.
Everyone has a favourite.
But a preference is hard to defend without shared requirements and evidence.
A method you can inspect
A decision you can explain, not just a score.
Define the decision
Write the requirements and weights before comparing your finalists.
Run the same evaluation
Use a consistent demo script and record the evidence behind each rating.
Document the trade-off
Compare three-year costs and capture open risks in a decision memo.

the cover’s word for it.

What the method looks like
A feature claim is not the same as evidence.
Instead of scoring “easy to use,” define an observable task: a new representative completes your workflow after 30 minutes of training. Ask each vendor to demonstrate the same task. Untested stays untested.
- Make the requirement or process explicit.
- Record what is known and what still needs checking.
- Keep the decision and its assumptions together.
The scenario is illustrative, not a customer case study. The workbook structures your work; it does not supply independently verified results for your business.

A good fit if…
You have a software category, a real buying decision and up to three finalists to evaluate.
Not the right purchase if…
You want a pre-researched winner, a live vendor database, or a security or legal audit.
Try the thinking before you buy
Start with your own cost assumptions.
No signup required. The calculator is free; the paid toolkit adds requirements, vendor scoring, a demo script and a decision memo.
Why a toolkit, when you have AI?
A generated answer
is the start of the work.
AI can help you discover options and draft questions. The difficult part is checking those answers against your requirements. This toolkit gives you a reusable place to record evidence, compare costs and preserve the reasoning. You still need to verify the inputs.
These materials are AI-assisted. We do not claim human certification, an independent professional audit or a proven customer track record. Inspect the sample and scope before buying.
Purchase details
Know what you’re buying.
Will it tell me which software to buy?
No. You supply the shortlist, requirements and evidence. The workbook structures that decision; it does not independently test vendors or certify their claims.
What happens after I pay?
Payhip handles checkout and gives access to the digital ZIP download after successful payment. It contains the .xlsx workbook, PDF guide, README and license. No physical product is shipped.
Do I need Excel?
The workbook is Excel-compatible. Imports into Google Sheets or other spreadsheet apps may change formulas, validation, protection and formatting. Check imported results before relying on them; identical behavior is not promised.
Can my team reuse the files?
Yes, within the purchasing business or team. Internal editing and duplication are allowed. Resale and redistribution are not.
What if the download has a problem?
Email hello@saassleuth.com within 14 days for a corrupted, inaccessible or materially misdescribed file. We will provide a working replacement or an appropriate refund. Change-of-mind refunds after successful digital delivery are not promised.
Is custom work included?
No. The digital product is self-serve. Written service enquiries and any implementation are separate, with an agreed scope, price and delivery date before paid work starts. No call is required.
A separate option: written help
Have a shortlist but need a clearer brief?
Ask about a written comparison scope for up to three vendors: requirements, cost assumptions and questions still to resolve.
Send a non-sensitive brief: software category; business goal; team size; shortlisted vendors.
Enquire by email →No charge to enquire. A written scope, price and delivery date must be agreed before work begins. Do not send credentials, customer records or confidential exports. Shared portfolio support: hello@saassleuth.com.
